Communities on Mission

Communities on Mission (CoM) are intentional neighborhood gatherings where community is forged through participation in mission. A CoM consists of people who come together around a vision for relationship and service in their community. CoMs provide opportunity for the people of our neighborhoods, regardless of their religious preference, to join in activities that make Heaven visible on earth.

We envision CoMs woven into the fabric of every neighborhood of Seattle — joining with neighbors in life-giving community and living into God’s dreams for each place.

Beacon Hill

In February 2022 we had our first citywide gathering to talk about communities on mission. We had Ruby Aquino who is connected to our West Seattle Church but who lives on Beacon Hill Come and share about the neighborhood. It was a great time to begin to share about our desire to serve to our neighborhoods together.

Small Group

For the last 7 months we have had a small group book club hosted by Pastor Brian and Cara Wardlaw in Ballard on Thursday evenings. This has been a connecting point for a group of people who are dreaming of being the church in a new way, looking for ways to serve their neighborhood together.

Beacon Food Forest

Our second citywide gathering of communities on mission met again for a prayer walk in Beacon Hill, where Pastor Regina was able to walk participants through the neighborhood and share about the different missions she has been engaged in. Following this event members at West Seattle organized to volunteer at the Beacon Food Forest.
